Pinar Artuk Boegel is a self-taught mixed media artist whose creative journey is shaped by a lifelong fascination with color, design, and the beauty of everyday objects. Born and raised in Ankara, Turkey, she explored various forms of fine art throughout her childhood and teen years. Her maternal grandmother, a talented craftswoman, introduced her to the fundamentals of sewing, knitting, and glass painting — planting the seeds of creativity early on. Though she later pursued a degree in International Trade and followed a completely different professional path outside the arts, Pinar remained deeply connected to her creative side. She nurtured this passion by visiting exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Always inspired by the power of color; she used it as a form of self-expression in fashion, art, or design.
In 2021, after a series of life-changing events, Pinar returned to making art while living in Virginia, USA. What began as an exploration of crafts quickly evolved into painting, decorative art, and home décor; leading her to establish Craft Works Art Design LLC. Pinar has always loved abstract artworks although she enjoyed watching Bob Ross’ TV show when she was a kid. Her curiosity and love of experimentation led her to develop a distinctive style she calls “ribbon art,” where abstract expression meets intricate fabric pattern work.
Under the name RENKLI — meaning “colorful” in Turkish — Pinar now focuses on acrylic painting and mixed media; fiber and ribbon art, and occasionally creates works with paper. Her work is a vibrant celebration of color harmony, which continues to surprise and inspire her — often sparking ideas in the quiet moments before sleep.
